As a German-to-English (ATA-certified) and Spanish-to-English translator, I craft precise and polished English translations with an ear for tone and style.

Area of Expertise: Historical and Handwritten German
With sensitivity and respect for Jewish history, I help families and organizations unlock the door to the past by translating personal correspondence and official documents from German to English. Personal letters contain crucial details on Jewish families’ personal experiences and most urgent concerns during the Nazi rise to power, Nazi persecution of the Jews, and the Holocaust. My strong background in European history (BA in European History, MA in International Literatures) aids me in unlocking the specific histories contained in your family or organization’s documents, such as:
• Personal correspondence
• Official forms and records
• Family documents related to the Holocaust or emigration from Europe

My work includes:
• Deciphering older German handwriting styles (including Kurrent)
• Decoding administrative abbreviations and stamps
• Researching official terminology and bureaucratic language
• Sensitivity and respect for Jewish history
• Respect for confidentiality and privacy

Additional Area of Expertise: Medical translation (Spanish and German into English) in areas such as
• Ophthalmology
• Clinical trials & oversight
• User interfaces (UI)
• Medical journal articles

After hearing from you, connecting over the phone or via email, and learning all I can about your specific projects and objectives, I will then prepare a translation in the format and style best suited to your work.

Interpreting Services
I provide interpreting services between Spanish and English in the following settings and areas:
• Ophthalmology
• General Medical and Healthcare
I provide Spanish-English interpreting services for medical settings, with a specialization in Ophthalmology. As a Certified Healthcare Interpreter (Spanish) with a Professional Certificate in Spanish Community Interpreting (Medical) from MIIS (Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey), I am trained in the standards of practice and codes of ethics relevant to this important role and experienced in accurately and reliably conveying the message, tone, and register for all parties.

A native US-English speaker, I have been ATA-certified in one language pair (German-English) since 2019 and CCHI-certified (Spanish) since 2022. I have a Master of Arts degree in International Literatures from the University of Tübingen, Germany, a BA in History (Concentration: Europe) from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, US, and a Professional Certificate in Spanish Community Interpreting (Medical) from MIIS, the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. My education also included a semester at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in Mérida, Mexico.
